update

Ok so before you think I've given up entirely on my blog I have to tell you that my dear husband gave me my own website for Christmas. He's still tinkering around with it so I haven't posted anything new there yet. I'll post the link to the new site once he has me up and going! Thanks for sticking around and do try to be patient with me.

busy, busy, busy!!

Wow things have been really crazy around here! All 3 kids (and Jeff) have had a cold that does not want to go away. Claire is 11 days in while Blaine and Chloe are 9 days in. I took little Blaine to the doctor today to check his ears before we head out of town. It's not quite infected yet, but redder than it was last week at his pre-cold 2 yr check-up. The doc went ahead and gave me a prescription for yet another antibiotic since Christmas is just around the corner. We're flying to TX tomorrow and I really hope his ears don't give him too much trouble.

On another note I've finished almost all of my Christmas projects. We still need to roll out our sugar cookies for Santa and I have a little work to do on the grandparent gifts. We will celebrate our Christmas tomorrow morning and then again with my family in TX and then again with Jeff's parents once we get back. Our kids are blessed with very generous family which relieves some of the stress off of us to get the perfect presents.
Here are some pictures of our trip to DC. The tree was beautiful, the kids had fun with there cousins, and Jeff and I had a great time talking in the car and dreaming at IKEA. That place is crazy big!

The photos go like this: The White House all decked out for Christmas, the National Tree, Chloe in the cold-I wanted to make sure we documented that she was indeed there for the event!, Jeff and the kids at the tree, and finally Blaine and Claire playing with their cousins (sorry for the bad pic, Kristin...). It was dark so we had to use the night shot mode. It creates cool pictures but it is VERY difficult to get them in focus. Especially when taking pictures of kids running around in the cold. I was glad that it was cold because it made it feel so much more Christmasy!

With us being out of town, I don't know when I'll get back to blogging regularly. I promise to take lots of pictures of the events to share with everyone!

OMG!!!

Has it really been that long since I've posted?? There's been a lot going on: a trip to DC to see the national tree, a cold spreading through all the kids and Jeff, Blaine turning 2...the list goes on. I'll try to take some time this weekend to share some highlights.

Can it really be this close to Christmas?? How am I going to get it all done? Yikes!!!

funny things

So last Friday I was taking Claire to school without the other kids because Jeff was home. While it sounds like a treat to have a little Mommy/Claire time, she's like me and thinks the more the merrier. She really wanted to have everyone come to pick her up but was afraid I might forget. I've been trying to teach her that everyone (Mommy, Daddy, Blaine, and even Claire) will make mistakes. I guess she's taken that to mean Mommy can't remember anything...

So here were her adorable words of wisdom for me:

"To remember something you just keep it in your mind. Rub your head and it will be there. It takes a minute so just wait and it will fly in there. And if you forget, just rub your head and it will come back into your mind again."

I smiled to myself as I followed her directions remembering how I would fake write things on my hand and then smack myself on the head to try to remember things. After I dropped her off I pulled aside and quickly jotted down this conversation on a receipt in my wallet because I knew I would never remember her exact words!! Unfortunately Blaine was acting especially tired that day and asked to go down for his nap before 11. I let him since Jeff was home and could stay with him when I went to pick her up. She was a little disappointed but handled it well.

Jennifer??

This post is for a recent commenter:

I can't believe that you somehow found me! That is the craziest thing. Unfortunately I cannot link to your page through the comments. Maybe I'm just stupid or something. Try again, please! I'd love to hear from you.
